Elie Wiesel, Author of Night, Aged 16 - Kyra - 29.07.22

 Night - Kyra - 29.7.2022

We completed a second Empathy Map looking at what Elie was like at the end of the war. But we did this one on our own, not in groups.

By the end of the war ......
Elie was 16 years old by the time he was liberated from the concentration camp. He had lived in the concentration camp for 4 years. For 4 full years that camp was knowed as his home. Elie was lucky enough to have been able to go through most of his time there with his father. But sadly his father was not strong enough to push through, like Elie was. His father died, leaving Elie alone by himself.
His whole family had been killed. He was completely alone.
Over Elies time in the camp his gold tooth had been pulled out, his foot had been operated on, he had been on a very long death march and much more terrible stuff.
No matter how much Elie might want to forget his time in the camp, he can not, he will not.

The thing I think I have taken away from the novel 'Night' is that I should never take anything for garanted and to be thankful for everything in my life. I need to learn not to get to upset over little things, when there are much worse things happening to other people in the world :))
